Hollywood is home to many celebrated families, admired for their talent and the striking resemblances between generations. From Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance to Princess Diana’s enduring legacy, several stars have passed down their distinctive traits and shared a sense of purpose to their grandchildren.
Kirk Douglas and Cameron Douglas
Cameron Douglas, son of Michael Douglas and Diandra Luker, spoke warmly about his close relationship with his late grandfather, Kirk Douglas, who passed away in February 2020.
As the eldest grandchild of Kirk and Diana Douglas, Cameron reflected on how his grandfather always supported him, even during challenging times. “He believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself,” Cameron shared.
In the years leading up to Kirk’s passing, Cameron prioritized living nearby, treasuring the moments they shared, particularly as his daughter, Vivian, built a bond with her great-grandfather.
This proximity motivated Cameron to relocate to Los Angeles, allowing him to focus on his career while hoping Kirk would witness his progress. “He told me, ‘Cameron, I’m so happy to see you thriving now,’” Cameron recalled, cherishing the pride he brought to his grandfather.
Kirk’s guidance wasn’t centered on acting techniques but on the values of hard work, preparation, and dedication—principles he passed down to Cameron.
Though Kirk lived a long and fulfilling life, Cameron admitted his loss was still deeply felt. Yet, he finds comfort in the memories they created and the privilege of being the grandson of a man he greatly admired.
“When I look at his life, what he accomplished, and the way he carried himself, it’s hard for me to imagine anyone doing it any better,” Cameron said.
Audrey Hepburn and Emma Ferrer
Emma Ferrer, the granddaughter of the legendary Audrey Hepburn, has inherited many of her grandmother’s striking features, including her graceful almond-shaped eyes, radiant complexion, and slender frame.
As a painter, Emma feels a deep connection to Audrey, recognizing the timeless appeal that made her an enduring fashion icon. “We are both artists,” Emma shared during an interview in April 2024.
Although she never had the chance to meet Audrey, Emma grew up immersed in her family’s rich creative heritage, which includes her grandfather, actor Mel Ferrer, and her father, filmmaker Sean Ferrer. This artistic legacy has significantly shaped her sense of self.
“I’m only now beginning to understand what it means to be linked to such an iconic figure of strength and achievement,” Emma reflected, expressing pride in her grandmother’s lasting contributions to cinema and culture.
Emma has also embraced Audrey’s humanitarian spirit, particularly her dedication to UNICEF. “Humanitarianism has always been a part of my life,” Emma explained, noting how Audrey’s experiences during World War II inspired her lifelong commitment to helping children. Emma carries on this legacy through her work with UNICEF and as an ambassador for UNHCR, supporting refugees around the world.
Over time, Emma has learned to balance the weight of her grandmother’s legacy while focusing on her personal goals as an artist. She credits her craft as the foundation of her confidence and strives to live by the same values Audrey embodied. “I try to lead my life with kindness and integrity, just as she did,” Emma said, “and always remain a lady at heart.”
Benjamin Keough and Elvis Presley
In July 2020, musician Brandon Howard came up about his beloved friend, Elvis Presley’s grandson, Benjamin Keough, who had passed away tragically. He considered the hardships that might have led to his premature death at the age of 27.
According to Brandon, Benjamin suffered from depression, which was made worse by the demands of upholding the Presley family name and the loneliness caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“A lot is required. “I wish I could have been there,” he said, recognizing the weight of Benjamin’s load. Brandon further emphasized how Benjamin’s difficulties were exacerbated by the expectations associated with the Presley legacy.
He said, “That kind of pressure is definitely a part of what happened,” describing the challenges Benjamin had in attempting to define himself. Benjamin was always there for his pals in spite of this, providing assistance when they needed it most. Brandon noted, “He has always been there for everybody,”
He recalled Benjamin as a multi-talented person who was a great musician, a wonderful chef, and an extraordinary person. Adding, “He was super inspiring,” Brandon said.
Benjamin was a kind and giving person, whether he was giving counsel or just having fun with friends. He would miss his contagious laugh, according to his friend. “He laughed in the most bizarre way. I would like his humility to be known. He was not a pampered child. Brandon thought, “He was very giving, very loving, and very humble, especially to his friends.”
Onassis Jackie Kennedy and Rose Schlossberg
Rose Schlossberg, the eldest daughter of Caroline Kennedy and granddaughter of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, made a decision in 2016 that deviated from her family’s political heritage. Rose, a Harvard graduate, chose to pursue a career in comedy rather than politics.
“End Times Girls Club” is a web series she and her friend Mara Nelson-Greenberg started. The satirical vlog, according to the now-filmmaker, was intended to teach women how to remain “girly” while eschewing contemporary comforts.
The show was inspired by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Rose added, when she saw that many people, especially women, were “grossly underprepared” and frequently went into “damsel in distress mode.” She stated, “I thought it would be interesting to create this world where girls have to be survivalists without compromising their cute factor.”
In a Mother’s Day post from May 2014, Rose’s mother praised Jackie as a woman of great bravery and commitment. She claims that she gave her all in all of her roles, including being a book editor, First Lady, and mother.
“I feel so fortunate to have had such great role models and I hope that I’ve been able to pass some of the lessons they taught me onto my children,” stated the mother of three.
Tuki Brando and Marlon Brando
The grandson of the renowned actor Marlon Brando, Tuki Brando, does not cleanly fall into the conventional categories of celebrity status. Tuki’s ascent to fame was not greatly impacted by his family’s legacy, in contrast to many people from well-known families.
After struggling with addiction and the horrific murder of her lover, Dag Drollet, by her half-brother Christian Brando, his mother, Cheyenne Brando, sadly committed suicide at the age of 25. Cheyenne was eight months pregnant with Tuki when this terrible incident happened.
Tuki was raised by his maternal grandmother, Tarita Teriipaia, Marlon’s third and last wife, after becoming an orphan at the age of five after his father passed away a few weeks earlier.
Tuki’s exclusion from his grandfather’s will, despite his ancestry, demonstrated their aloof and chilly relationship. After being featured in an L’Uomo Vogue picture shoot by Bruce Weber in 2007, Tuki’s career took off as a model.
In contrast to his family’s turbulent past, he went on to become the face of well-known companies like Versace and TechnoMarine watches.
Tuki, who is also a doctor, talked about his early recollections of him and his well-known grandma in an interview conducted in February 2012. “I have the first memory of my grandfather talking about all he had witnessed in his life as we were swimming together in the pool. Additionally, he instructed me on how to strengthen my abs in the pool,” Tuki said.
Marlon told the model, who was then the face of the Mr Porter campaign, that “‘being comfortable is the best thing in style.’” The model also recalled this statement.
In September 2020, a picture of Marlon’s grandson was posted by an X user. He had brown eyes, strong eyebrows, and blonde hair that reached his shoulders.
As one commenter put it, “Stole his grand daddy whole face.” “He’s actually sooo much more handsome than his Grandpa!!” wrote another Instagram user. Another exclaimed, “So beautiful.”
Ethan Peck and Gregory Peck
American actor Ethan Peck is well-known for being the grandson of Greta Kukkonen, Gregory Peck’s first wife, and the renowned actor Gregory Peck. As a youthful Spock in “Star Trek: Discovery,” Ethan played the part in 2019. He still plays the same Spock in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.”
In 2009–2010, Ethan featured in the ABC Family sitcom “10 Things I Hate About You.” He took over the legendary character of Patrick Verona in 2010, when he was barely 24 years old. Heath Ledger had played the role in the 1999 romantic comedy “10 Things I Hate About You.”
“I never felt any pressure to fill his shoes,” Ethan said boldly in response to a question concerning the difficulty of following Heath’s path. He did his own thing—amazingly—and I’m doing mine. Ethan’s relationship with his well-known grandfather was more about a personal bond than a professional one, even if he was successful in his career.
Ethan recalled happy times like learning to float in a swimming pool as Gregory watched over him. “He was just Grandpa to me,” he said. Ethan said he now wishes he had the opportunity to question him more about his life and work. “He passed when I was 17, and I don’t recall ever having a conversation with him about acting,” he said.
Princess Charlotte and Princess Diana
The late Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Earl Spencer, posted a 1967 old photograph in March 2024 that showed how strikingly similar a young Diana was to her granddaughter, Princess Charlotte.
The picture, which showed a happy Diana with her mother and brother, stirred up sentimentality and received a lot of attention on social media. Princess Charlotte looks a lot like her grandmother, according to many comments. One commenter wrote, “Princess Charlotte is the spitting image of Lady Diana.”
Others agreed, “You can really see Princess Charlotte in Diana in this photo!!” The statements “Diana looks exactly like Charlotte,” and “Wow, I see princess Charlotte in her grandmother here [sic],” Wonderful recollection.”
In more ways than one, Charlotte embodies Diana’s legacy beyond their physical resemblance. Her grandma is honored by her name, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Charles Spencer conveyed his happiness at this homage by revealing that his daughter, Charlotte Diana, was ecstatic about the name association.
For his kids, Prince William has made preserving “Granny Diana’s” memories a top priority. He makes sure Charlotte and her siblings stay in touch with the grandmother they were never able to meet by providing them with pictures and anecdotes.
Since his wife, Kate Middleton, also never met Diana, William recognized the challenge, but they are nonetheless committed to upholding her legacy.
These famous people—Princess Diana, Gregory Peck, and Marlon Brando—have strong familial ties and similar ideals, which demonstrate how their legacies continue to impact and mold their offspring and uplift them through the ages.
