One issue that all of us face at some point in our lives is bullying. It can happen from a very young age and at times, the effects can be devastating.
In 2021, there was an incident surrounding a problem with bullying that really shed light on how much of an impact this issue can have. It affected an 11-year-old boy and will likely do so for the rest of his life.
The boy was on a bus in Walton County, Georgia and he was being bullied by a group of young children. He was so frightened that he decided he would jump out of the bus while it was moving on the highway.
After jumping from the bus, he landed on a truck roof and then rolled onto the highway. The amazing thing is that he only suffered minor injuries considering the possible extent of damage that could have occurred. A concussion and a broken elbow happened.
After this occurred, paramedics rushed to the scene and the Sheriff’s office shut down the intersection. They were busy helping the child and it was a miracle that he was okay.
His father, Dion Murphy was thinking the worst. He was afraid that his son had died as a result of the injuries. He said: “Death. First thing I’m thinking when I hear you jumped out a vehicle … I was concerned he’d got ran over or killed. My son could’ve lost his life.”
This is a very upsetting incident but it is also something that can teach us all a lesson. These issues must come to a stop but as long as bullying is allowed to continue, we run the risk of it happening again
